Lettuce

Lactuca sativa
Compositae

Temperature

  • Germination: 22°C
  • Growth: 24°C

Light

  • Lettuce does best with plenty of light, placed in a well-ventilated area.
  • 12 to 14 hours per day is recommended for growing indoors with Bulbo lights.
  • Not enough light may turn the leaves yellowish.

Soil

  • Lettuce and greens like a well-drained soil, preferably with a high content of organic matter.
  • For lettuce and other greens, we recommend this soil mix.

Time Of Growth

  • Expect about 45 to 55 days from seed to harvest, depending on variety.

HOW TO START

  • Lettuce can be grown from seed by distributing seeds directly into your pot with a larger surface area and covering gently with a 5/10mm layer of soil.
  • Water lightly.
  • Thin to a few millimeters of space.

WATERING & CARE

  • Watering should be constant but not excessive. A lack of water can cause the lettuce to bolt and flower.
  • Harvest when the leaves are still young. Leaves will grow back quickly after cutting.

How To Use

  • Fresh leaves are best dressed simply: just a little oil, vinegar and salt make the most delicious dressing.
